Well I approach this more from the perspective of how PostgreSQL does
it. With PostgreSQL a community member will start a project, and once
the project shows quality it gets inherited into the core project.
Examples of this include:
Planet PostgreSQL
Pg Buildfarm
Jabber
I would expect, should you want, the same thing would happen here.
