If the invoice isn't official yet, it should be a sales order.  It
looks like something we should consider (probably in the area of 1.4
if not sooner) is the ability to convert un-posted invoices to sales
orders immediately.  The current workflow requires posting first,
which is probably where some of the problem comes from.

Just to be clear, invoices are supposed to be posted when all work has
been done necessary to get paid.  If you are posting the invoices
before that point, we need to see what we can do to help ensure that
this isn't necessary for you.
