experience using BI reports? (eg: jasper, pentaho, openRPT, etc)

hi folks,

i'm still using a hacked version of SL years after initially exploring
LSMB (like others, awaiting a stable version to stick it out with).

however, both before and after jumping from SL we're looking at creating
a more dynamic reporting infrastructure (eg. reports for all 12 months
at a time, combining certain accounts, etc.).  

i've been exploring the world of open source reporting tools, and jasper
and openRPT seem somewhat promising.  does anyone have experience with
these or others?  any example reports to share?
