Unfortunately, I cannot think of a good way of dealing with this off the top of my head.  Warehouses would be messy, but they may be your best option unfortunately.  This may work if you don't keep a large number of drums on-hand and don't use warehouses for anything else.  David is right that it is not elegant, will be maintenance heavy, and will not scale well, of course.

This is an area where the application is probably going to need some expansion eventually.
