Do you mean change the permission?
I have:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root    10 Oct 28 20:24 /usr/bin/perl -> perl5.12.2
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 10256 Oct 28 20:24 /usr/bin/perl5.12.2

What version are you running?
