I have tried following the INSTALL instructions from the source of a downloaded .35 release
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ledger-smb/files/ledgersmb/1.3.35/
and am up to the point of getting a complete PASS after
$ perl Makefile.PL
$ make test
I am using these settings for pg_hba.conf:
=======================================================================
#
# Database administrative login by Unix domain socket
local all postgres peer
# TYPE DATABASE USER ADDRESS METHOD
# "local" is for Unix domain socket connections only
local all all peer
# IPv4 local connections:
host all all 127.0.0.1/32 md5
# IPv6 local connections:
host all all ::1/128 md5
# Allow replication connections from localhost, by a user with the
# replication privilege.
#local replication postgres peer
#host replication postgres 127.0.0.1/32 md5
#host replication postgres ::1/128 md5

I would like to run ledgersmb via my apache2 2.4 version web server on the same machine with no access
over a network at first.
There are no helpful hints about apache2 configuration, but the debian package
in unstable successfully does its postgres configuration.
I had found an example apache config file, ledgersmb-httpd.conf, but have lost it...
is that in ledgersmb source? If so, I should probably get 1.3.36 and start again
compiling. is /opt/src/ledgersmb OK to run from, or is there easier support
if I keep it in another location like /usr/local/ledgersmb? perl Makefile.PL
writes all its files under the directory it is run from, right? No installing elsewhere?
apache configuration is not completely OT if it stops users from trying out ledgersmb, is it?
I'd appreciate a little OT help here. Have to get some other work done 90% of the time,
or I would have solved apache config details already...
I am close, but not running ledgersmb yet... I noticed the INSTALL instruction at
http://sourceforge.net/p/ledger-smb/code/HEAD/tree/branches/1.3/INSTALL
is up a couple of revs the last couple of days...but no more detail
on "directing your web browser to the setup.pl script"
John Griessen
back to work on the other projects...
