New Virtual Machine for LSMB

I had made a vmware/freebsd virtual machine which helped a large
number of people to get familiar with sqlledger and ledgersmb. It is
still available on my website.
Many people found it difficult to deal with freebsd. So I am putting
together a new vmware/linux virtual machine for sql-ledger and
ledgersmb. This machine will have:
1) sql-ledger (pulled from our github repository for easy updates/upgrades)
2) LedgerSMB 1.2 from SVN so that 'svn update' will update you to any
new bugfixes/features.
3) Possibly pre-beta LedgerSMB 1.3 from svn for eager people like me
to try it out
I just wanted to know:
1) What is the preferred linux distro used by LSMB users?
2) Is it a good idea to include LSMB 1.3 at this stage?
3) Any other suggestions.
Best regards
Armaghan
