Hi All, Thanks to those who responded about backups/restore –
I will try that out with my test database. I’m still a bit stuck as to how you would import CSV
files - I did install phppgmyadmin and had a look at the tables but I would be
a bit wary of putting data straight into the raw tables without validation
(also I couldn’t find any detailed info about the table structures such
as how the transaction IDs are generated) Will there be a CSV import screen on any future versions of
LedgerSMB (or do any how-tos exist somewhere?) I did see this functionality on
the SQL Ledger but of course it had been hobbled by the info being kept in the
manual rather than released in public.. I’ve got a few months before we need to upgrade our
software and would much rather go for this than Iris Accounts Office or even
the new Microsoft Accounting, but the CSV import would be a core requirement. I’m willing to use command-line tools to achieve this,
but at the moment I just don’t know where to start. I did look in the
archives and it appears it is something that was slated for a future version –
is this still the case? Another (perhaps easier to solve) query is – are there
hotkeys on the AP/AR screen (we are a service business so the POS screens aren’t
as useful to us) My main gripe with iris was that you have to use the mouse to
commit each transaction – would rather have a function key or a
Alt+letter combination to do this. If it’s a matter of customising the
php code slightly (presumably you would just need to link the hotkeys to the
buttons) I am happy to do this if shown how… Thanks Alex -- Tel: Ext 24
