Recurring transaction setup

I would like to schedule automatic paymnets on a regular monthly basis. Apart from
generating this as a recurring transaction, does anything need to be configured n the
server, like cron for example? In other words, is this a feature that would run
independently of anyone accessing Ledger-SMB or is manual intervention required?
