No.  You can do the same upgrade.  I am not entirely sure if the
upgrade to 1.1.x is helpful or not as an interim measure.

The basic steps are outlined in the UPGRADE file in the tarball.  You
can use the steps from SQL-Ledger 2.6.x just as easily as from
LedgerSMB 1.1.x.  The only difference is you may have more
Pg-upgrade*.sql sripts to run.
