Thanks, that makes a bit of sense.  So I debited the suspense account and
credited the P&L Account (3200).  Is that the right thing to do?

Opening balances should be posted against an equity account if you don't
have other accounts to balance them against.  You will probably need to
either reverse and repost or post an adjusting transaction.
