It seems I finished the integration of the date field improvement.
I put this to my github fork. https://github.com/pongraczi/LedgerSMB
Just find DateInput Part1, Part2 and Part3 commits.

We add a few special variables to what is passed to the template. By convention all special variables are in all caps.USER is the variable to access the user object.
