Now I'm trying to figure out what amounts were actually saved for my
invoice - but I can't figure out how to search for the invoice (AP) just

I haven't been able to reproduce your problem.  Steps to reproduce would be appreciated.  I did send you a patch based on the  query involved that should resolve it however.  I am not quite sure though whether the changes made  for the outstanding report.

Hmmm as I review, it may need a slightly different patch.  Don't apply the other one (or if you did, reverse it and apply this one).
