I'm not quite sure *how* to remove BigInt.pm safely

I've read that it's part of perl core. I would hate to break something else.

(ubuntu 12.04 lsmb 1.2.21  BigInt.pm v.1.997 postgresql 9.1 upgraded recently from 8.3)

I'm trying to update to 1.3.28, but in the meantime I have to keep everything up to date. I'm getting this problem:

Add new vendor.
Add Vendor Invoice using the new vendor, and click "update"

Any help gratefully received. Better still, any help with my upgrade to 1.3.28 would be VERY gratefully received (see previous emails).
