Good day Chris,

I think it has something to do with MikTeX. Any other system call works e.g.
system ("copy f1.dat f2.dat"), any system call to MikTex say latex, dvips
fails.

Last time (Windows XP) upgrading from MikTeX 2.8 to 2.9 worked.
MikTeX 2.9 is installed and running programs (latex e.g.) from the command
line works fine, it just won't work from the Perl system call. 
Any suggestion?
