There are some projects that are in the discussion stages, but LedgerSMB seems to be the best available for right now, although it seems to have some limitations for fund accounting - we'll see what my accountant thinks of it in a few days.
As far as LedgerNPO, if anyone has any ideas as to who I could contact to find out what happened to this project, I'd appreciate it. Every trail I followed seemed to dead end, so I'm sending some emails (to SPI for example), but couldn't even find a direct name or email for anyone that was involved in it.

There was a LedgerNPO discussed a while ago. If you search the list
archives (and maybe the lists.spi-inc.org/pipermail/spi-general one)
then you'll know as much as I do about it.
