Re: upgrading from sql-ledger

Hmm, maybe it's worth a try then. We only have one company and one address per vendor, so I may try it. I'll search a little on the -dev maillist archives for advice and experiences.

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks a lot for the (very fast) reply. (My biggest frustration with
sql-ledger is the lack of community support. As a long time linux/FOSS
user I am used to active maillists and forums.)

Anyway, I'll wait for 1.3. Any idea of when it will be released?

As soon as it is ready. We have a few areas that need to be finished
up before beta testing can start.

BTW, the biggest hurdle has to do with the address table in SL. If
you only store one address per company or per vendor, it should be
straightforward to migrate (ask on dev about experiences). If you are
storing more (either via customizations or what not), then you will
need to wait for 1.3.

Thanks again,
Brian

Hi,

Is there any way to upgrade to ledgersmb from more recent versions of
sql-ledger (I'm on 2.8.13)? The UPGRADE document is for 2.6.something or
lower.

There are some fundamental issues at the moment with upgrading from SL 2.8.

You can either wait for LSMB 1.3 which will make this more feasible,
you can work through the database changes on your own, or you can hire
someone to help you with it.

Of course people on this list or the -devel list may have some ideas
and scripts, but you should be aware that handling of addresses may or
may not be an issue depending on how you have this set up.

Best Wishes,
Chris Travers

Thanks,
Brian
