LaTeX template problem after upgrade from 1.2.6 to 1.2.11

Since upgrading from 1.2.6 to 1.2.11 I have a problem with the LaTeX 
template output.  The problem occurs when printing the VAT due.  Looks 
like the expansion of the tax description (previously read "VAT 17.5%" is
now causing a problem.  The output I see now is like (note the 'height' 
replacing the % symbol):
  Subtotal 369.90
  VAT (17.5height  Total
  434.63

The relevant piece of the tex template is:
<?lsmb foreach tax ?>
  & <?lsmb taxdescription ?> on <?lsmb taxbase ?> & <?lsmb tax ?>\\
<?lsmb end tax ?>

Any thoughts?
