Chris,

Is there a operating system which doesn't have this problem and is tested?

At this point, I don't believe it is a problem with your OS.   CentOS is very similar to Fedora (which I use).

Are you using mod_perl for anything else?  If not, try removing it.  Same with Apache-perl.  If you need these, I will see if I can find something in the docs to help you configure Apache properly.

The basic issue is:  We don't yet support mod_perl.  Mod_perl does a lot of code caching and the codebase we inherited has a *lot* of variable scope issues.  I think the new framework should be close to mod_perl ready, but it will be some time before we have everything working on it.  Instead, LedgerSMB *must* run as a CGI application for now.

I believe that is your problem-- that Apache is running this in process via mod_perl or the like instead of out of process.

Where is it installed?  Are you using suexec?   Mod_perl?  Any other things we should be aware of?

This are my server specs:

Operating system Linux 2.6.9-023stab044.4-enterprise

Mod_perl 1.99-16-4.5
Perl-Apache-ASP 2.57cos4

Ok.  Currently I have absolutely no idea how much more work is going to be required to get LedgerSMB working with mod_perl.  (We accept patches to this effect and are working towards support for this!)

My guess is that mod_perl or perl-apache is running this inside the Apache process, and it is hence not finding the LedgerSMB modules.  I can help you fix this, but there is no telling what other problems you will have.

The easiest thing to do is try to get things going as a CGI application.  I don't have a lot of experience with mod_perl so maybe someone else has some ideas on how to disable mod_perl in this directory?

I have installed SMB in the cgi-bin and then everything Works ine, without the grafics.
