We're having some trouble deleting some bogus customers and parts that were

any transactions associated with a given customer, or part?

I beleive that you can search for transactions associated with the name in the GL report.  Maybe the description field?

For parts, use the inventory activity report.

I did try using the History module for the customer, but it shows no activity
for the problematic Customer ID.
