I'm currently a SQL-Ledger user evaluating a possible migration to
LedgerSMB.  I can tell you that an old accounting book I found was
*invaluable* in figuring all of this out.  You don't have to be an
accounting expert, but it does help to know how the costs flow from
account to account. 

Accounting book in one hand, LedgerSMB in the other, cold brew in
front of you...well, the third item is optional, but you really do
need the first two (IMO).
