I'll use the sliver of an opening in the first line of this patch to make
the point that LedgerSMB should consider moving to a partially distributed
development model.

There are relatively few committers, and sourceforge is too archaically
horrible for posting, finding, and (I presume) fixing bugs.

The mainline branches certainly must be tightly managaged. The application
is still brittle where SL code remains.

However, there are many people in the LedgerSMB community who have useful
general and niche contributions. We need to make it easier for this
second-tier to collaborate. From those collaborations, certain features
will gain champions who can refine the code for inclusion in mainline.

Florian uses git, which I use. Github or gitorious would be fine places to
host a branches, whether a specialty changeset or an expansive
customization.

bzr would facilitate a migration to launchpad. LP would be a major upgrade
in Bug tracking and triage capability.
