Re: Urgent , We have a new taxes , I need a help

Hi Guys,
I will take this opportunity to clairify this point a little. I don't
know if there are any other Canadians on this group but our gov't
loves tarrif's*. There are about 20 that I can think of off the top
of my head but a common one that I know several state's charge as well
is a recycling deposit (environmental tarrif) on beer cans. I don't
know about other places but here we are required to show these
tarrif's on the bill of sale and in some cases must also charge sales
tax on the tarrif (politicians that allow tax charged on tax should be
shot IMHO). We have been making this work by setting up the tarrifs
that we use as services (which they are) that we just have to remember
to add whenever we sell an item that has a tarrif associated with it.
Further to this there are items that have two tarrifs and it is just a
matter of time until some pollititian realises that he could have
three;-)

*the difference between a tax and a tarrif is that taxes are a percentage
and tarrifs are a flat amount, also tarrifs are typically collected for a
specific purpose rather than general tax coffers.
