I'm really looking for ways to make the templates more flexible without
having to edit the template files themselves.  Maybe this should go on
- -developer more than -users.  This should have been implemented in a
much simpler way years ago, ideally in the 1.2 versions, but for sure
in the 1.3 versions.  Likewise with the footer code.  You shouldn't
have to edit the footer itself to change that, because there are three
templates that exist.  The LaTex, the HTML, and the text templates.
That means if you want to change that you have to change it three
places.  And most likely you're changing things that should be
variables, that should be applied to your accounting.
