You should just be able to type it straight into the Invoice (LaTeX) Template if you're using it (we only use the PDF invoices so if you want it to show on the HTML invoice you'll want to edit that too), and put it in depending on where you want it to show on the invoice?

I actually included in an image that reads TAX INVOICE with the tax number in it (since I wanted to use a specific typeface).

You should only have to do it once.

Hmmm... I dont think that is right.  That would suggest something tied to a line item.

I assume there isn't this on the invoice, but will treat this as a feature request for 1.4.
