1.2.16-1 deb package stalls on install

I tried to install the 1.2.16-1.deb available on alioth, after
installing all of the dependencies I ran dpkg -i <package name> and it
gets stuck at:

Setting up ledgersmb (1.2.16-1) ...

I'm not sure what is failing, should I just install it from source? 
Since it is a web app it won't be the end of the world to do so, but
being a debian user, I like to do things the debian way if possible.
