When/What to migrate to

I am a current user of SL 2.8.x. I would like to migrate in the next
week or two to SMBLedger. I am wondering if it would be better to
migrate to 1.2 and deal with potential migration issues, or migrate to
1.3 dev and deal with some bugs that may still exist?
