Fresh install on Ubuntu 8.04 gives Internal server error when clicking the update button on a POS invoice

I presume this is something simple. I am getting an error when trying to 
use the update button in a POS Invoice.

/var/log/apache2/error_log give this:
[Tue Mar 04 13:27:26 2008] [error] [client 192.168.1.7] Premature end of 
script headers: ps.pl, referer: http://192.168.1.203/ledgersmb/ps.pl

The browser error is:


 Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was 
unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, ..hidden.. and inform 
them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done 
that may have caused the error.
