Session expired! on admin.pl login

I recently upgraded from 1.2.7 to 1.2.8 on Mac OS X 10.4.11.
I can log in to http://localhost/ledgersmb/login.pl with username and  
pswd OK.
However attempting to log in to  http://localhost/ledgersmb/admin.pl  
with adminusername & pswd generates a bright red "Session expired!"  
message. I noticed a user on the sql-ledger board reported a similar  
problem and the suggestion was "the time between the server and pc is  
off by more than the timeout value. This can also happen when  
daylight savings time comes into effect." Might that be the case here  
and if so how to fix as the server is running on the PC? Or is it  
something else?
