Serial number

Hello Everybody

I'd like to know if it's possible to control the
inventory of items through serial numbers.

I tried with form of Received, but it seems that no
matter how many items is being recieved, only one
field of serial number is asked.

How do you people control warranties, for example,
given a serial number?  How do you enter the serial
number for a bunch of items?

Imagine a computer shop that sells printers,
processors, boards, etc. and have warranties to
accomplish.  The only way is through the serial
number, you have to establish if you sold that item.
