I've figured out the GL transaction part but not the inventory.

BTW, yesterday while doing a manual installation I found an inconsistency between INSTALL file line 161 and ledgersmb-httpd.conf line 2.
the former is refering to a URL with ledgersmb in it and the later is configuring an httpd ledger-smb alias. Confusing.

Enter initial inventory as an AP invoice. Then enter any other
information in as a GL transaction.
