Multipage PO print fails

I have been using SQL-Ledger 2.6.22 and ran into this printing problem. 
I just downloaded LedgerSMB 1.1.8 to see if the problem exists there - 
and it does. I can print single page POs just fine but when I create a 
PO with a larger number of items so that it takes multiple pages I get a 
latex error:

Any suggestions? 

I am using the default  purchase order template to test with.  I am just 
learning latex syntax and would like to help debug this problem but I am 
not sure how to capture the intermediate file ( with <%var%> expansions 
) which is passed to pdflatex.
