Installing SL POS module from Melatron site....

I'm considering manually installing the SL-0.5.0 POS module into Ledger-SMB.  
While I understand I'll be installing the code manually in each module, I'm 
asking if anyone can provide highlevel guidance.  For example are there any 
gotchas?  Is the code base in SMB so different that installing it would 
be "not recommended"?
