Thanks for your continued testing. We're looking at fixing it for the last time (for real this time). The fact that making changes to the bin/*.pl scripts is such egg-treading is *the* motivation for wanting to move off of that code. I think we're on the right track there, but there's still a long way to go. One of the problems we had so far is that the remaining code is more-or-less integrated, meaning it's pretty tough to find a good approach to rewriting the code without throwing it all out and rewriting it all. I still have some ideas for approaches though.

Thanks for the work on this. Making changes to aa.pl feels like walking on
eggs - apparently minor changes seem to have all manner of side-effects.

I've tested 1.4.18-rc2. Adding transactions is still broken. I've added
notes to the github issue (which has been marked closed - don't think I
can reopen it):
