An email I sent yesterday asking why companies decided to use LedgerSMB dovetails with this thread.  Getting the word out means identifying what motivates companies to use it and providing one or more tangible benefits (i.e., clear differentiator over competitors).  I'd like to ask people on this list to email this thread telling the main reason they went with LedgerSMB.  I'd like to collect responses (anonymously of course) to determine how best to promote LedgerSMB.

First, your question is the right question.  I haven't had time to go over our history in this regard.

I am going to respond to your question there, but a simple view historically is that we have picked up users initially by being extraordinarily concerned about and responsive to security issues.  This was probably the first major decisive advantage we have had.  I won't say we are the most secure program out there just because of the amount of legacy code that I don't entirely trust, but we are getting there and we try to offer really good security processes.

Best Wishes,
Chris Travers

Get your SQL database under version control now!
Version control is standard for application code, but databases havent
caught up. So what steps can you take to put your SQL databases under
version control? Why should you start doing it? Read more to find out.
