I think scheduled transactions have always required posting before they show up. Was that different in 1.2.x? I can't imagine that it was since every scheduled transaction must be based on something that already exists.

Does it still not show up if you post after this?

In 1.4 I was hoping to move all the scheduled transactions over to templates but in the interest of releasing sooner rather than later I think that work will be pushed to 1.5 and/or addons territory for now.

I am happy to report that we have smoothed out just about all the bumps
we found, things are working pretty well. I worked around the tax
problem by putting an end date on the existing account and creating a
new one without tax. The only other thing that still trips us up
regularly is the inability to search by customer name (go to
AR=>reports=>transactions=>choose customer name from drop down=>no
transactions); we have to look up the customer number first and then use
that to search for their invoices. But everything else we have done has
pretty much worked exactly as advertised.
