This is kind of a minor issue, but annoying.

When entering things in the General Journal, I kept running into a
problem that drive me nuts. ÂOver and over, when I did "Update" to make
sure the entry balanced, it kept coming back with "Invalid number
detected during parsing." ÂI finally figured out that it was due to a
space in one of the number fields that had been left behind when I moved
some things between columns.

Probably spaces are already being stripped before numbers are parsed,
but the test does not seem to recognize that a field that contains ONLY
spaces is not a number (valid or otherwise).

Thanks for the report! Filed a ticket at https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3607219&group_id=175965&atid=875350

Bye,
