That's great!

I assume your post is a reaction to the mail from Chris Travers
regarding the customer history search?

Chris wasn't really soliciting new feature requests for 1.3 though;
rather: he was soliciting feedback for a design decision to be taken
before we can get 1.3 out the door -- a feature which if not available
would have meant a serious regression in functionality.

Don't get me wrong, because I'd *love* to implement the feature for
you, but I've been pushing toward 1.3 pretty hard -- Chris and I have
been working at very high activity levels with over 100 commits in the
past month alone(!). But if it were up to me, 1.3 would ship without
this feature: it's been too long since there was a new LedgerSMB
release (other than bugfix releases) and many people are moving
elsewhere.

The above does not have to be the end of the world though: Chris has
been talking about creating add-ons with their own release cycle. Your
functionality could easily be developed as an add-on and installed on
top of your 1.3 - once you've migrated. The main reason for choosing
this strategy is to be able to release 1.3 asap. It contains many
useful improvements for many people already and extending the
feature-set any further would delay getting that to interested users.

So, I'll keep your offer on file and will come back to you when 1.3
gets closer to a release -- hopefully getting me in easier waters with
time to address your request.

Again, thanks for your offer and I hope it isn't personal or unwillingness.

Bye,

Erik.
