Re: 1.5 readiness checks (1.2/1.3/1.4 upgrades in particular)

I ran into a report today which makes me conclude we need to actually have a way of checking, at least, the version of some key modules to make sure we aren't accidently using 1.4 modules.

Can you share a bit of info what the report is about? Maybe anonymized? Are you talking about the LedgerSMB 1.4 Perl modules? Or Database modules?

I expect to have this in today.

What's "it"?

Also, The main point was about schema versioning and database migration. I'm hoping you have something to add to that topic, as you actually did quite a bit of work on the topic. We went over a lot of stuff when we were designing that, but I'm a bit unclear with respect to the migration path we're offering our users -- the schema upgrade work mostly focussed on our own ability to manage the schema and eliminate all the Fixes.sql errors we're generating today....

Comments highly welcome!

Regards,

Erik.

uhm. okay, cool.
I have two 1.3 databases I can test with if desired.

(Important enough that I'll notice if it's wrong, but not so important that
they can't be out of commission for a few weeks...)
