Re: Features you would like to see in 2.0

Dont know if this thread went stale...
However, I have a "default" project for each client that gets monthly billed.
I enter the billing using timecards under each project (I am using Hours Tracker on the iPhone to keep that straight!).
At the end of the month, I generate detailed (so the comments appear) Sales Orders. This makes a single Sales Order for each of the clients (AKA projects) and closes the open Timecards.
Then I open up the Open Sales Orders and generate invoices (which closes the SO).

Now, if I could get a workflow built that would do that and email/print as appropriate that would be great.
Being able to select projects and service codes by name instead of numbers would save a little time too.

Occasionally, I do something for "free". It might be a quick status call or something. To ensure the clients know that it happened and that they got a "freebie", I use a service code for "billable" and a second for "non-billable". I found that if I made 100% of a Timecard non-chargeable, it did not show up on the SO (I think the system thinks it is already closed). Using a $0 Service Code is a little more complicated, but it keeps everything so it gets pushed onto the invoice.

Also, be aware that the standard PDF invoices start to get a bit "ugly" when you run over a page using this method.

For now, why not post orders (one recurring for the monthly), and then
consolidate and convert to invoice at the end of the month?
Or, just keep editing the same order--have the recurring system post one
at the start of a month, and then edit more items on to it as the month
progresses.

Also invoices on hold would probably solve this for you, assuming that
means what I consider it to mean.

What would also probably solve it, is account statement capability. They
would post as separate invoices, but you could invoice them with a
statement each month.
